In going to a festival, one should be prepared for the following untoward incidents that might happen in the place of festivity:
1. BOMB SCARE - Festivals are good grounds for terrorists to stage a threat to the unsuspecting crowd. Participants should be vigilant and should report any suspicious bags or containers left in unlikely places.
2. THEFT - Jam-packed spaced are a heaven to pickpockets, so festival-goers should see to it that their wallets and other valuable stuff are pit in a safe place. Backpacks should be carried in a way that the owner can see if the zipper has been opened.
3. ROBBERY - Attendees should avoid dark and isolated places where robbers can find an opportunity to corner them and take all their valuable stuff. Hot items such as expensive gadgets must not be exposed as to avoid the robbers from making the owner a target.
4. RAPE - Women participants should be careful in drinking liquors, drinks from open containers, and from using an offered hanky from a stranger. They should also avoid being chatty to people they barely know. They must also avoid being alone in dark alleys.
5. SHOOTING INCIDENT - Festivals with too many people could provoke some people into engaging in petty fights that could really get dirty and might result to bolo attacks, gun-shooting incidents, and other violent brawls and some participants might get caught in the middle. People are encouraged to stay away whenever a fight is about to start.
6. CONSTRUCTION MISHAPS - Some platform stage are not built sturdy because of limited preparation time. Attendees must be cautious in putting too much weight on a newly-constructed festival structures to avoid any accidents from happening.
7. STAMPEDE - Anything that could lead people to panic can cause stampede. Participants should be aware of this; thus, it is never wise to bring kids, elderly, and sick people to festivals.
8. SYNCOPE - Heatstroke, dehydration, and other medical condition can lead to fainting spells. Being in a crowded place where oxygen becomes thinner is also a good reason to lose consciousness. Participants can avoid this by drinking enough water, not allowing oneself to be in the middle of a crowded place, and managing one's health condition first before attending a festival.
9. SUNBURN - Most festival activities are done under the scorching heat of the sun, so to avoid sunburn, one must apply sun-protection creams and lotions 15 minuted before sun exposure.
10. ENCHANTMENT - Some places where festivals are being held have cultural and paganish practices that include pambabarang (witchcraft), panggagayuma (love spells), hiluan (poisonous sorcery), and the like. There are known pangontra (antidote) to these kinds of black magic; but prayers are still the strongest shield against them.
interesting... nakakatakot naman ang number 10. totoo kaya na nangyayari ito?
